Stamford Strings
63 High street St martins, Stamford, pe9 2la
Stamford Strings, founded by violinist and luthier Libby Summers in 2019, aims to offer top quality instruments and setups for players in the Stamford community and beyond. Showcasing both new and antique violins for sale, many restored in-house, Stamford Strings also offers restoration, repair, conservation, appraisal, and insurance certificate services. Bow repairs and rehairs are personally handled by Libby, with support from an external consultant.
Catering to players of all ages and abilities, Stamford Strings can order student instruments upon request. The shop also features a wide selection of bows, cases, and accessories, and offers a warm welcome to everyone to browse experience the instruments for themselves.
All our instruments are selected based on sound, playability and craftsmanship. They are also rigorously tested by professional players and we approach them from a musician’s perspective, as well as a luthier's.
