Handmade in luthier workshops to our specified standards.Quality checked and finished in our workshop in Stamford, England using our own handmade varnish using a tried and tested 18th century recipe, with quality natural ingredients. Each instrument is individually varnished by hand in our workshop in Stamford, England and set up by one of our trained luthiers.
This instrument has been varnished without any pigment, using traditional methods of getting colour in the wood before any varnish is applied. Pigmentation of the varnish changes the sound and also reduces the translucence and effervescence of the sealed wood. Our 'blonde' violins have been much admired in the shop! Come and try them out to see how clear and rich the sound is. The pale varnish also really accentuates the lovely 'bear claw' feature of this front.
