Thanks to innovative materials and adopting new, carefully matched production methods, the development of PIRASTRO Perpetual resulted in a string set with a character not yet found in their other product family. The Perpetual strings provide the largest sound volume and carrying power combined with a precisely focused sound projection. The clarity of sound does not diminish the abundance of colours Perpetual offers. Vibrancy of tonal attack and optimal string response enable the player to move seamlessly from extreme fortissimo to the most sensitive whisper. The innovative core material allows a comfortable smoothness during legato, shifting, string crossings, double stops and chords. The extended reverberation of the Perpetual brings forth an exuberant lustre.
Although during the first 24 hours the PIRASTRO Perpetual develop towards an even smoother sound, tuning stability is reached immediately after stringing the instrument.

Another advancement in the Perpetual set is the platinum plated E-string which is offered in the gauges 0.26 mm and 0.267 mm. The 0.26 mm E sounds silvery and very brilliant, while the stronger 0.267 mm E provides a slightly darker, more voluminous tone. Both E-strings are equipped with a removable ball end.
Pirastro Gold Violin Strings
Gold, previously known as Gold Label is entry level gut core string by Pirastro. For those who prefer a simple, gut cored string at an affordable price these strings are the answer. They have a bright sound combined with easy playability under the fingers. Available in full size, medium tension only with a ball or loop end option for the plain steel E string.
Excellent quality and value for players who like the old gut sound. Please note these strings are not recommended for use with fine tuners.
This string may be used with a fine tuner but this is not recommended due to the elasticity of gut cored strings.

These incredible strings are the latest strings from Pirastro designed to combine the best qualities of synthetic cored strings with the traditional gut sound. True gut sound with plenty of volume plus excellent tonal stability. Recommended rosin: Oliv/Evah Pirazzi.
The gut core of Passione strings is manufactured, wound and polished in the traditional way, by hand. The core sound is full, round and warm, with a complex overtone spectrum combining brilliance and clarity and a great power of projection.
Passione strings possess a fascinating diversity of sounds, which allows musicians to alter their tone as desired. Big and powerful sound with very easy response on all levels of the dynamic range.
Pirastro gut string tensions are measured in units of PM (Pirastro Measurement) and refer to the diameter of the string. 1PM = 0.05mm, so gauge 14PM = 0.7mm diameter. The tension of the string varies by 3% for each gauge.

Forest honey colors. Mellow, rounded sound. Well suited for synthetic strings with low and medium tension. Each cake of rosin is glued onto a soft cloth which then is attached to a hard plastic grip. This prevents the fingers of the musician to get exposed to rosin dust and also makes it easier to apply the rosin.
