This violin is in impeccable condition for its' age and has been lovingly brought back to life by our luthiers, with a brand new set up and Obligato strings. Probably one of the finest sounding instruments we have ever had come through the workshop. We will find this one hard to say goodbye to.

Lovely simple curves nicely edged and complimented by the buttery caramel boxwood pegs that we have newly fitted.

the front and back

A fine elegant outline, details and corners. Lovely flamed maple back and close grained spruce front. Beautifully cut f holes, and lovely proportions. No cracks or dents. Immaculate!

The Setup

We have applied our trademark attention to detail both in sound and vision. This lovely Mirecourt Violin has a completely new bridge, soundpost and set of Obligato strings. All the fittings, including tailpiece, end pin and pegs are new from the finest boxwood. Violins don't come this good for such little money. A rare opportunity to own a special instrument.

A violin that sings with utter freedom and joy. Immensely playable. Rich, colourful tone. Breadth of character and depth of sound. Mature, intense and sonorous.

the varnish

Immaculately preserved deep rich red varnish characteristic of the Mezin School of Making. All the original varnish is intact.
