Despite only being a year old, the Aria already has a mature tone, bringing a nobility to everything it plays. It speaks as much as it sings with its warm and textured sound. This cello truly captures the stories of the pieces it plays, bringing enticing nocturnal elements to its lower register, and rich colours to romantic melodies. The Aria Cello's open sound will complement an ambitious student who want to take their playing to a truly advanced level, but will also reward a player of immense technical ability.
Brazenose Instruments is a new brand set up in 2021 by Stamford Strings. Our team wanted to use our skills and expertise, honed over many years of craftsmanship, to create a hand made range of violins, violas and cellos for the discerning player looking for a great sound, ultimate playability and practicality. The Aria Cello is crafted with the advanced student and semi-professionals in mind. Professional grade, with a superb set up and a sonorous, warm yet powerful tone. The instruments are a collaboration between our luthiers in Europe and our luthiers in the UK.

about The carcassi Model
Lorenzo and Tomaso Carcassi were brothers who shared a workshop and often collaborated using a joint label during the period c.1750-1780. Thought to have been pupils of Giovanni Battista Gabrielli, who was working in Florence around that time, the brothers were also heavily inspired by Jacob Stainer. Stainer's influence was widespread in Florence during the mid-18th century, which may partly be due to the prominence of the Austrian Habsburg family in Tuscany.
Their varnish tends to be of a yellow-brown color. While they produced some works independently, most of their works bear a joint label.
