sold - our next terra cello is being made right now!
The Brazenose Terra Cello is our answer to the lack of good quality affordable hand made cellos on the market for the advancing student. There isn't really an equivalent cello on the market, we don't think. With the huge jump from the Chinese brands to the Artisan Handmade cello, we are aiming to fill the gap. We have tried the alternatives, such as they are, and nothing else compares, in our opinion. The Brazenose project is a collaboration between Stamford Strings and a European workshop led by a Newark trained luthier, our cellos are sent to us all finished and set up by us at Stamford Strings.
Set up to our professional standards with Pirastro Student Cello String Set (Passione A and D and Chromocor G and C), a hand cut Despiau bridge, Wittner Tailpiece and Brazenose Ebony Pegs. Our third Brazenose Terra Cello is the best yet. It has to be tried to be believed. It outperforms its' price tag for sure. Book a trial now!

About brazenose Violins
Our team wanted to use our skills and expertise, honed over many years of craftsmanship, to create a hand made range of violins, violas and cellos for the discerning player looking for a great sound, ultimate playability and practicality.
We believe instruments are beautifully crafted machines that work for us and should be able to provide longevity, stability and predictability. Structurally sound instruments which are expertly set up will deliver these features.
The name Brazenose Violins comes from our founding shop, Stamford Strings, which is on St Leonard's Street in Stamford. Just down the road is Brazenose Lane and Brazenose Gate. The University of Stamford was an academic institution founded in 1333 in Stamford, Lincolnshire, by a group of students and tutors from the University of Oxford, including Merton College and Brazenose Hall.
