4/4 French Cello, Paris c1880, Geronimo Barnabetti, from the workshop of JÉRÔME THIBOUVILLE-LAMY. This is one of the top J.T.L. models of the time along with the Grandini model. Geronimo Barnabetti was working from 1854 onwards, initially on his own and then is thought to have worked in the Jerome Thibouville Lamy workshops at Mirecourt.

New ebony pegs, hand-cut bridge by Carlos Libreros, new sound post and Wittner tailpiece fitted at Stamford Strings. Set up with Jargar strings, which is all this cello needs to sing evenly across every range.
