Born in 1969 in Perugia, Filippo first trained at the Scuola per Maestri Liutai e Archettai in Gubbio, Umbria, where he made his first instruments. He then decided to become a professional violin maker and enrolled at the Newark School of Violin Making. After graduating Filippo worked from July 2007 to August 2010 as a maker at the well-known Roger Hansellworkshop, in North Yorkshire. In 2010 he moved back to Italy, where he set up his workshop in Corciano, Perugia, where he now works with his wife Katy.
