Born in Munich, Germany, in 1973, Isabella began studying the violin at the age of 7. From 1992 to 1996 she attended the Civic School of Violin Making in Milan under the guidance of Maestro Luca Primon and graduated in 1996. A further year of study followed at the School of Violin Making in Parma under the guidance of Maestro Renato Scrollavezza. In 1997 she passed the apprenticeship leaving exam in Mittenwald, Germany. From 1999 to 2005 she taught the construction of bowed instruments at the Civic School of Violin Making in Milan. In recent years she has attended various courses with the Masters Carlos Arcieri (restoration of instruments and retouching of paints), Pietro Cavalazzi (maintenance and bow restoration) and Hans Nebel (retouching). She took part in National and International violin making competitions, winning a gold medal and a bronze medal. Since 2008 she has lived and worked in Trento, together with her husband Luca Primon, mainly dealing with the restoration, repairs and fine-tuning of bowed instruments and the maintenance and restoration of bows.
