The Westbury violin outfit far exceeds many other factory violins in a similar price range. It is therefore an excellent choice for beginners or advancing students on a tight budget. The violin is made by Eastman strings from maple and spruce with inlaid purfling and ebony fittings. This instrument is a standard finish with a dart shaped plywood case, brazilwood bow and upgraded strings.
The outfit is set-up by Stamford Strings. Instruments not properly set up can be difficult to play and give poor results in terms of sound. We operate a strict policy of setting up every instrument, regardless of level, to exact standards and specifications. A set-up in our workshop includes checking the string length and after length, shaping and cutting the bridge, re-working the nut, reaming and lubricating the pegs and peg holes, rosining the bow and adjusting the sound post. Instruments are shipped with the bridges up and in the correct position.
